All About Me
Hey there, I'm Martha, a sophomore at Bishop Gorman High School. I am currently taking art 1 and ceramics 2. I signed up for ceramics 2 because I loved ceramics 1 and wanted to continue gaining new skills. My favorite class, other than ceramics, is art. At school, I am in art club. Outside of school I am a competitive cheerleader at Las Vegas Elements. My goal for this semester is to make some great projects and get good grades.

Coil Pot Critique
I like how I was able to freely design with glaze on this pot. I can improve my future projects by adding clear to the inside, and making sure colors glazes are completely dried before I add clear. I learned that coil pots are really hard to make and that symmetry is difficult to accomplish.
Slab Box Critique
I am really pleased with how this project turned out. I especially am proud of how I tried some new colors. I can improve my future projects by applying more even coats of glaze. Also, I learned that you can fix broken parts of your project. For example, the stem of my umbrella broke off while it was bone dry, so I still fired it, but was unable to glaze and reattach it. I figured that I could paint it separately, hot glue it back on, and add a clear coat of nail polish to compensate for it not having a clear coat. It worked!
Glazed Slab Box
I finished glazing my slab box today, but unfortunately my umbrella broke. I also added a clear coat.
